J Tackle was founded by Jeff Gardner — a dedicated fisherman who grew tired of settling for inferior quality tackle. Determined to find real solutions for serious anglers, he set out to build something better.
It started with bottom walkers. Jeff collaborated with fellow serious anglers to perfect every detail — the sizes, the swivels, the balance. The result was a weight so dialed in it earned its own identity: each one is stamped with a "J" on one side and the ounce weight on the other. That's where the name J Walker was born.
After perfecting the walkers, Jeff turned his attention to flutter jigs. Most anglers have never tried flutter jigs for walleye and bass — but trust us, they are lethal. J Tackle launched with four digital images of forage fish native to the Columbia River, each one designed to trigger strikes when nothing else will.
